Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sirloin steak, about 1-inch thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the steak generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
- While the steak rests, cook the fettuccine pasta according to package directions.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
- Slice the steak and serve over the pasta, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to substitute the steak with chicken or shrimp.
- If you don’t have heavy cream, you can use a combination of milk and a bit of butter or cream cheese for a similar texture.
