Description

This hot Spinach Parmesan Alfredo Dip is the ultimate easy and satisfying appetizer, perfect for game days, parties, or just a cozy night in. It’s creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor that will have everyone asking for the recipe!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped yellow onion (about 1 medium)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for topping
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the thawed and squeezed dry spinach. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing any excess moisture to evaporate.
  5. Reduce heat to low. Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir until well combined and the cream cheese is mostly melted.
  6. Stir in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, salt, and nutmeg (if using). Mix until smooth and creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese (if using) on top.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden.
  10. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers like tortilla chips, pita bread, baguette slices, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes along with the salt and pepper.
  • If you don’t have a skillet that can go from stovetop to oven, you can transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish before adding the cheese topping and baking.
  • This dip can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated. Add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking from chilled.
