Description
Tender and flavorful Honey Teriyaki Chicken Thighs, perfect for a weeknight dinner. This recipe combines the savory depth of teriyaki with the sweetness of honey for a truly delicious result.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
- Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
- Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish or resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade (discard the marinade).
- Cook the chicken thighs for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly browned.
- Pour in the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired. Serve immediately with rice and your favorite sides.
Notes
- For a deeper flavor, marinate the chicken for a longer period.
- If you prefer, you can substitute chicken breasts for the thighs, but adjust the cooking time accordingly.
- Serve with rice, noodles, or your favorite vegetables.
