Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken thighs to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water.
- Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens (about 1-2 minutes).
- Return the chicken thighs to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly in the sticky garlic sauce.
- Cook for another minute or two, until the chicken is heated through and the sauce has fully coated the chicken.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
- Serve immediately with rice or your favorite sides.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- You can substitute chicken breasts for chicken thighs, but adjust the cooking time accordingly.
- Serve with steamed rice, noodles, or your favorite vegetables.
