Description

This Cowboy Butter Garlic Chicken Tortellini recipe is a flavor explosion! Tender chicken and cheese tortellini are tossed in a rich, savory cowboy butter sauce. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (19 ounce) package refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  4. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  5. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet.
  6. Cook tortellini according to package directions. Drain and add to the skillet with the chicken and sauce.
  7. Toss to combine, ensuring the tortellini is coated in the sauce.
  8. Stir in fresh parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of cayenne pepper.
  • You can add some sliced bell peppers or onions to the skillet along with the chicken for added flavor and vegetables.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
