Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces pasta (penne, rotini, or your favorite)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the steak cubes in batches until browned on all sides. Remove the steak and set aside.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Stir in the oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the steak to the skillet. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until the steak is tender.
- While the steak is simmering, cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain the pasta and set aside.
- Stir the heavy cream into the sauce in the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses to the sauce. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can use different types of cheese, such as Gruyere or Monterey Jack.
