Description

These Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers are a fun and delicious twist on the classic sandwich. Bell peppers are filled with a savory mixture of thinly sliced steak, onions, peppers, and provolone cheese, then air-fried to perfection. A quick, easy, and satisfying meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bell peppers (various colors), halved and seeded
  • 1 pound thinly sliced steak (such as shaved steak or ribeye)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces sliced provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak, onion, and green bell pepper. Cook until the steak is browned and the vegetables are tender, about 8-10 minutes. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Stuff each bell pepper half with the steak and vegetable mixture.
  5. Top each stuffed pepper with 1-2 slices of provolone cheese.
  6. Place the stuffed peppers in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook them in batches.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the steak and vegetable mixture.
  • You can use different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or pepper jack, if desired.
  • To save time, you can purchase pre-shaved steak.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the stuffed peppers in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese is melted.
