Description
A cool and creamy Tzatziki Party Dip, packed with extra cucumber for a refreshing twist perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (full-fat recommended)
- 1 large cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Grate the cucumber using a box grater. Place the grated cucumber in a fine-mesh sieve set over a bowl and let it drain for at least 15-20 minutes to remove excess water. Gently press with a spoon to speed up the process.
- In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, drained grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, chopped mint (if using), lemon juice, and olive oil.
- Stir all the ingredients together until well combined.
- Season generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for grilled meats.
Notes
- For a thicker dip, you can strain the Greek yogurt for an hour or two in the refrigerator using cheesecloth.
- Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference.
- Leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
