Description
These Sweet Chili Meatballs are incredibly easy to make and are a guaranteed family favorite. The combination of savory meatballs with a sweet and spicy glaze makes them perfect as an appetizer or a main dish served over rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (16 ounce) package frozen cooked meatballs
- 1 (10 ounce) jar sweet chili sauce
- 1/2 cup apricot preserves
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for extra heat)
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish, optional)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Combine the sweet chili sauce, apricot preserves, soy sauce, and sriracha (if using) in a medium saucepan. Whisk until well combined.
- Add the frozen meatballs to the sauce mixture.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is hot and bubbly and the meatballs are heated through, about 15-20 minutes. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cooks.
- Once heated, transfer the meatballs and sauce to a serving dish.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds, if desired.
- Serve hot as an appetizer or over rice for a complete meal.
Notes
- For a homemade touch, you can use your favorite homemade meatballs instead of frozen. Simply cook them fully before adding them to the sauce.
- Adjust the amount of sriracha to your preferred level of spice.
- These meatballs are excellent for potlucks or game day parties.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
