Description

These Sweet Chili Meatballs are incredibly easy to make and are a guaranteed family favorite. The combination of savory meatballs with a sweet and spicy glaze makes them perfect as an appetizer or a main dish served over rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen cooked meatballs
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar sweet chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for extra heat)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish, optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the sweet chili sauce, apricot preserves, soy sauce, and sriracha (if using) in a medium saucepan. Whisk until well combined.
  2. Add the frozen meatballs to the sauce mixture.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is hot and bubbly and the meatballs are heated through, about 15-20 minutes. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cooks.
  4. Once heated, transfer the meatballs and sauce to a serving dish.
  5. Garnish with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds, if desired.
  6. Serve hot as an appetizer or over rice for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For a homemade touch, you can use your favorite homemade meatballs instead of frozen. Simply cook them fully before adding them to the sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to your preferred level of spice.
  • These meatballs are excellent for potlucks or game day parties.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
