Description

This Bang Bang Chicken recipe is an easy and satisfying weeknight meal. Tender chicken is coated in a vibrant, spicy, and creamy sauce, perfect for a quick and flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts or thighs with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked through and golden brown.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Once slightly cooled, shred or dice the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic powder until smooth.
  5. Add the shredded or diced chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Serve immediately over rice, noodles, or a bed of lettuce. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more sriracha to the sauce.
  • You can also bake or grill the chicken instead of pan-frying.
  • This dish is great served with steamed broccoli or a simple side salad.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
