These soy-glazed chicken thighs are incredibly flavorful, easy to make, and perfect for a weeknight dinner. The simple glaze caramelizes beautifully, creating a delicious, sticky coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish and pour the soy glaze over them, ensuring they are well coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the marinated chicken thighs, skin-side up, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the skin is golden brown and crispy. Baste the chicken with the glaze from the baking sheet halfway through cooking.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, broil the chicken for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Serve with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
