This prosciutto arugula pizza is a delicious and easy-to-make meal perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual gathering. The combination of salty prosciutto, peppery arugula, and creamy mozzarella on a crispy crust is simply irresistible.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 4 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
- 2 cups arugula
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Red pepper flakes, to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired shape and thickness.
- Brush the pizza dough with olive oil.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Arrange the mozzarella slices over the sauce.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the pizza from the oven.
- Immediately top with the prosciutto and arugula.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a crispier crust, cook the pizza directly on a pizza stone or baking steel.
- Feel free to add other toppings, such as mushrooms, olives, or sun-dried tomatoes.
- If you don’t have fresh mozzarella, you can use shredded mozzarella.
- Adjust the amount of arugula and prosciutto to your liking.
