Description

A classic Southern-style pimento cheese dip that’s perfect for parties and gatherings. Packed with sharp cheddar, pimentos, and a touch of spice, this creamy spread is a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chopped pimentos, drained
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped white onion
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and well combined.
  2. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped pimentos, chopped onion, and chopped green bell pepper.
  3. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Start with a small amount and adjust as needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up.
  6. Serve chilled with crackers, baguette slices, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch more cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.
  • You can make this dip a day in advance; the flavors will deepen overnight.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika or chopped parsley before serving, if desired.
