Description
Tender and flavorful honey soy chicken thighs, perfect for a weeknight dinner. This recipe combines the sweetness of honey with the savory depth of soy sauce for a delightful glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish or resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring they are well coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for best flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the marinated chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the thighs.
- During the last 5 minutes of cooking, you can broil the chicken for a minute or two to caramelize the glaze further (watch carefully to prevent burning).
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a thicker glaze, you can simmer the remaining marinade in a small saucepan over medium heat for a few minutes until it thickens slightly. Drizzle over the chicken before serving.
- Serve with steamed rice and your favorite vegetables.
- You can also cook these on the grill or in a pan on the stovetop.
