Description

These sticky, sweet and savory Honey Garlic Chicken Drumsticks are baked to perfection with a delicious glaze. An easy weeknight dinner that’s both budget-friendly and crowd-pleasing.


Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Pat chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels and place in a large bowl.
  4. Pour 2/3 of the honey garlic sauce over the drumsticks and toss to coat evenly. Reserve remaining sauce for basting.
  5. Arrange drumsticks on the prepared wire rack.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, basting with reserved sauce every 15 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  7. For extra caramelization, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

  • For crispier skin, pat the drumsticks very dry before coating with sauce.
  • Line your baking sheet with foil for easier cleanup.
  • You can marinate the chicken for up to 8 hours for more flavor.
