Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced (about 1/4 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the carrots, water, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes, or until the carrots begin to soften.
- Stir in the honey and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the carrots are tender and the glaze has thickened. The glaze should coat the carrots.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can substitute maple syrup for honey.
- If the glaze gets too thick, add a little more water.
- Leftover glazed carrots can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
