Description

These glazed carrots are a simple and delicious side dish that’s perfect for any meal. The carrots are tender and sweet, with a glossy glaze that makes them irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced (about 1/4 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the carrots, water, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes, or until the carrots begin to soften.
  3. Stir in the honey and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the carrots are tender and the glaze has thickened. The glaze should coat the carrots.
  4. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
  5. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute maple syrup for honey.
  • If the glaze gets too thick, add a little more water.
  • Leftover glazed carrots can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
