This Garlic Butter Chicken Alfredo Skillet is a creamy, comforting, and easy one-pan meal. Tender chicken and pasta are tossed in a rich garlic butter Alfredo sauce, making it a perfect weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, plus more to taste
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add uncooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet. Stir to combine and make sure the pasta is submerged in the sauce.
- Cover the skillet and cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Add a splash more chicken broth if the sauce becomes too thick.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to combine with the pasta and sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic.
- You can substitute shrimp or sausage for the chicken. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
- If the sauce gets too thick, add a little more chicken broth.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
