Description

This Garlic Butter Chicken Alfredo Skillet is a creamy, comforting, and easy one-pan meal. Tender chicken and pasta are tossed in a rich garlic butter Alfredo sauce, making it a perfect weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, plus more to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add uncooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet. Stir to combine and make sure the pasta is submerged in the sauce.
  7. Cover the skillet and cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Add a splash more chicken broth if the sauce becomes too thick.
  8. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to combine with the pasta and sauce.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic.
  • You can substitute shrimp or sausage for the chicken. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
  • If the sauce gets too thick, add a little more chicken broth.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
