Description

These Easy Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Cookies are a delightful treat that brings a touch of magic to your winter gatherings. With a hint of peppermint and festive sprinkles, they’re not just cookies; they’re a celebration in every bite. They’re quick to make, perfect for last-minute cravings or a fun baking session with the family.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup festive winter sprinkles (blue, white, silver)
  • Optional: additional sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and peppermint extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and winter sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. If desired, sprinkle with additional festive sprinkles while still warm.

Notes

  • For extra festive flair, you can drizzle melted white chocolate over the cooled cookies and then add more sprinkles.
  • Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days.
  • If you don’t have peppermint extract, you can omit it for a classic chocolate chip cookie, or add a pinch of cinnamon for a different winter spice.
