Description
Whip up a delicious and easy weeknight meal with these flavorful Garlic Noodles! Ready in under 30 minutes, this recipe is perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces dried spaghetti or linguine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add soy sauce, butter, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir until butter is melted and everything is well combined.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. If the noodles seem dry, add a little of the reserved pasta water, a tablespoon at a time, until the sauce coats the noodles nicely.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
- Feel free to add cooked protein like chicken, shrimp, or tofu for a more substantial meal.
- Vegetables like broccoli, snap peas, or mushrooms can be added during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred level of spiciness.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar.
