Description

These Crispy Chicken Parmesan Sliders are the perfect bite-sized comfort food! Crispy chicken cutlets are nestled in slider buns, topped with marinara sauce and melty mozzarella cheese, and baked to golden perfection. A quick and easy weeknight meal that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup olive oil, for frying
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
  3. Set up a breading station: Place flour in a shallow dish. In a second dish, whisk eggs. In a third dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, then dip in the egg wash, and finally coat with the panko mixture, pressing to adhere.
  5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken cutlets in batches for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Place slider buns on a baking sheet.
  7. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom halves of the buns.
  8. Top with a chicken cutlet, a slice of mozzarella cheese, and another spoonful of marinara sauce.
  9. Place the top halves of the buns on top.
  10. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the buns are toasted.
  11. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
  12. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use a seasoned breadcrumb mix.
  • If you don’t have slider buns, you can use regular buns and cut the chicken accordingly.
  • Leftover sliders can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
