- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4–6 pita breads
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced red onion
- For the Sauce:
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the chicken pieces with olive oil, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken evenly.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly browned.
- While the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, lemon juice, fresh dill, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Warm the pita breads according to package directions (you can warm them in a dry skillet, microwave, or oven).
- Once warmed, carefully open each pita bread to create a pocket.
- Fill each pita with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced red onion, and the cooked chicken.
- Drizzle a generous amount of the prepared yogurt sauce over the filling.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious chicken pitas!
