Description

Learn how to make delicious baked stuffed artichokes with this easy-to-follow recipe. Tender artichoke hearts are filled with a flavorful mixture of breadcrumbs, herbs, and Parmesan cheese, then baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 large artichokes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the artichokes: Cut off the top inch of the artichokes and trim the stem. Remove the tough outer leaves. Rinse the artichokes and spread the leaves apart.
  3. Make the stuffing: In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff the artichokes: Drizzle olive oil into the spread leaves of each artichoke. Spoon the breadcrumb mixture into the leaves, pressing gently to secure.
  5. Bake the artichokes: Place the stuffed artichokes in a baking dish. Add 1/4 cup of water to the bottom of the dish. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the artichokes are tender and the stuffing is golden brown.
  6. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the stuffing.
  • You can use canned artichoke hearts if fresh ones aren’t available, but fresh are recommended for best flavor.
  • Serve with a lemon wedge for squeezing over the artichokes.
