Description

This Asian-style garlic chicken noodles recipe is a quick and easy weeknight meal, bursting with savory flavors. Tender chicken, aromatic garlic, and perfectly cooked noodles come together in a delicious sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces dried noodles (egg noodles or your favorite)
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 1/4 cup soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), rice vinegar, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  5. Add the sauce to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  6. Cook the noodles according to package directions. Drain the noodles and add them to the sauce along with the cooked chicken.
  7. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • If you don’t have oyster sauce, you can substitute with an extra tablespoon of soy sauce.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like sliced bell peppers, broccoli florets, or snow peas. Add them to the skillet with the garlic.
