Description
These Air Fryer BBQ Chicken Drumsticks are incredibly easy to make! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and smothered in your favorite BBQ sauce, they’re perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a fun weekend cookout.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 chicken drumsticks (about 2 pounds)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken drumsticks with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Place the drumsticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook them in batches.
- Air fry for 20 minutes, then flip the drumsticks and cook for another 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the drumsticks with BBQ sauce. Flip and brush again to ensure they are evenly coated.
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels before seasoning.
- Adjust cooking time depending on the size of your drumsticks and your air fryer model.
- Feel free to experiment with different BBQ sauce flavors to customize the recipe to your liking.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake these in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 40-45 minutes, or until cooked through.
